Yup I used gap filler expanding foam.

The reason I used protaper is twofold, the walls are 3/4/3 instead of 4/5/3 in renthal .the protaper bars are rumoured to be more flexible BUT due to the way the bar changes wall thickness it's just as strong as a renthal fatbar , renthal also have a plug about 4 inches into the bar that makes it hard to fill them with foam.

Replaced the orings on the exhaust pipe. The old ones were shot and causing a horrible screeching noise.

prepped for snow

got snowy trail riding in. I studded the rear knobbys with 1/4x 1 1/4 tap cons locked with 1/4 nuts. Outter row of rear tire knobby and all of the front got #8 x 1/2 sheet metal screws. For $45 I'm really happy with the results. Goes through 8 " of snow very well, tracks great going over wood. hooks up like crazy when the throttle is applied.

studs

Saw that stud setup on youtube .Anyone else done it yet. Curious as to how well they hold up? Local store has studded tires for $300 I am way too cheap for that!! Gonna try studding it myself next week. All my snow melted it was 60degrees here today felt like spring. Hopefully on the bike tomorrow
Did ride it around my yard a couple times getting the hang of the rekluse

I've put 10 litres of gas thru the bike since mounting the studded tires, all looks good, the tap cons have lost the blue paint is the only thing I've noticed . The sheet metal screws in the rear edge knobbys are still holding . I thought I might lose some of them but I imagine they're not taking much torque. Screws in front also all good. Worse thing is getting it mounted, the nuts imbedded in the knobby seems to make the tire pinch tight at the bead.

I am taking it easy on rocks and hard wood.

Cool white frame. Would like to see more pics when it is put back together.

I put in an order worth 700 Euros with the Motocross center today. Including a 2012 transformation kit. It will not be a replica of any particular bike but I am taking the bits I like from various bikes ie Factory, Racing and Carreras.
Hence the white frame:D
