Nothing yet Stu. Maybe next fall. I sold my business in December and I'm a House Husband at the moment. Back in November, I had a deal worked out with her about selling both my bikes to get a 14. However, things have changed dramatically since then. This is what the current deal is now:

"You need to focus on starting another business. Not on building, setting up, or racing a new dirt bike....."

That is pretty much what she said.......LOL:)

My wife is very smart, cool, hot, and a great Cajun cook. She has even bought me bikes before and lets me ride and race all over the USA. In fact, she bought me my first GasGas yrs ago. So I'm just going to do what she says and enjoy having my WR450 until I can get another 2 stroke. My little boy just started riding at Xmas so I'm with him a lot now instead of my regular group.

I want a 14 GG 250 Race very badly so, I'm hoping to change her mind bc I have the cash from the sale of my 2012 just sitting on my desk. I'm not depositing it yet.....

You know that owning a motorcycle dealership/repair shop is a business, right? And, you could become a Gas Gas dealer, right? Just saying.

I've considered it, but I'm not that confident I could sell enough bikes. Lots of dealers with leftover 12's and 13's.......I also hate working on my bike, let alone someone else's bike. I'm not a lover of wrenches.

Plus I don't care for the way the management at GG in Spain operates. I like the bikes, but have watched this circus operate for 15 yrs and they still leave me scratching my head.

I would buy a 2014 250 expect for some important reasons. I'm unemployed and broke...LOL.

If I could figure out how to make my wife's horse disappear(without it being my fault), I could afford several new bikes:(

LOL!

Might want to erase that. If the barn burns down tonight, you could be in trouble.

Andrea,

Welcome on board !

What's your opinion on the 14' 300 you tested ?

The day of the test I had my bike (2012 EC 300 R), so I could make a direct comparison.

http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/640...0/690/1gfv.jpg

The first impression with the 2014 300 is to have a bike 10 kg lighter, even though in reality it weighs only 2 kg less (verified).
The 2014 is extremely agile compared to the 2012, and however it's still very stable.
The 2014 300 that i've tried did not have the original marzocchi 48 fork, it has
a version modified by GasGas italia, very hard... In fact in the stones the bike was not very precise.
The reiger shock instead worked very well !! much better compared to the 2012 ohlins. (on my bike I had to replace the ohlins with a sachs because the bike was very difficult to ride with the ohlins....)

The 2014 engine has a lot of more torque at low and medium revs, but it is not very powerful at high revs (my 2012 has more power at high revs, but I mount the s3 head).
In the video, at 7:02, there are a series of rock steps (50cm each), with my 2012 300 I have to do them in first gear (in second gear, the engine turns off) instead with the 2014 300 I can do them with the second gear !
There is a big difference between 2012 and 2014 at low revs, my 2012 looks like a 125 compared to the 2014.

The only thing I did not like of the 2014 it's the clutch, I prefer my magura pump...but my bike mounts a special clutch basket and clutch cover...so I can not make a real comparison.

Thanks for replying Andrea. We haven't had many people test ride the 2014, so there is an interest in your video.

Only 2kg less???? Can you explain this in more detail? Did you go weigh it around the corner? What was the weight?

Also, did you not have the 12 Ohlins shock re valved for you needs before buying a whole new shock? Mine was really good after my guy worked his magic. This is the first I've heard of someone going from an Ohlins to a Sach's.

If you were on stiff Bib Mousse, then that bike could handle completely different with tubes at 12 psi. Kind of hard to judge handling in that scenario.

Did you happen to ride the 250?

Andrea#92 01-29-2014 10:27 AM

The bike was weighed by gasgas italy mechanic.
He told me that the 2014 weighs 2-2,5 kg less than the 2012-2013 (weighed on the same scales).

My ohlins was prepared and modified three times before being replaced by a sachs.
In italy there are many GasGas riders desperate with 2012-2013 ohlins shocks...
The sachs shock, with the right setting, works much better !

I also tried the 2014 EC 250, but for a short time, I was more interested in the 300.
