It will be in the twenties here tonight but we are going to ride Friday. It should be in the 50's. I am sure it will make it back to the 70's next week.

I sure love winter in South Texas. Summer, not so much!

It was 6 degrees on Sunday when I went out to ride. Every 4 stroke was an issue starting. We got them all started and rode. High was around 20 for the day.

No it's not!

Problem with my new Gas GAs is it's still sitting in the showroom waiting for me to pick it up and I need to sell the old one first. First enduro here Sunday and I'm going to miss it.:(

We won't get riding weather here for another three months!

GasGas 01-12-2011 05:29 PM

We are getting dumped on again for the second time in a few days. I'm glad we did get out for a ride a week ago Sunday. Skied last Sunday.
Looking out the back door:(

UGH! After seeing the above pic I promise I will never whine again about the weather in NC, USA.

rgranger 01-12-2011 06:21 PM

I actually broke a little sweat last weekend...but that was on a KTM :)
Check is in the mail though, so maybe by EOM the gasser will be here.

Sorry Clay, but not being able to ride my new XC is a major issue! :D

It's way to cold and icy here too!! High at my house today looks to be 22? Did try to get the Ktm out the other day,, just slid around on the frozen and snowy ground. Now the snow is too deep unless you have spikes or a belt/ski.

bputt 01-13-2011 01:59 PM

22 degrees too cold??? What??!! That is PERFECT riding weather. Some trellies, under-armour and a decent set of gloves and life is good. In fact, at 22 degrees, you just break a light sweat. Now, like Bobt said, last weekend at 6 degrees started out a bit cold, but was still a beautiful sunny day in the snow. We love winter riding in Western PA!

Bobt250 01-13-2011 05:58 PM

Yeah bputt. I like 15 degrees. Snow is all the better. You get home and you're clean. No mud.

An enduro jacket, glove liners and I'm good to go.

For the rest of you guys, usually you end up too hot because you dress for warmth, then when you're in the woods and working the bike you get hot.

Krieg 01-13-2011 06:11 PM

I grew up in PA and I remember riding in all types of weather as a kid. We used to think 60 degrees was swimming weather! We'd sleigh ride in 10 degree weather until we couldn't feel our faces and our fingers stopped working.

Now that I've been in the South for 28 years I've turned into a weather wimp. Below 40 degrees and I'm not riding anything except a pre-warmed car! :D

OK ok ok!! you guys are crazy, can you say hypothermia... before you even get on the bike and thats probably before a good 15mph wind and thinking about it what would the wind chill factor be? Oh I guess it really wouldn't matter.
From someone who lives in Florida That's just to darn COLD. But Have fun anyway.

If y'all want to warm up, get some riding in, and represent your regional series plan a road trip to Louisiana March 5th!
