This website is "community owned" and "not for profit" and is supported via donations. I have enabled the donations again and would appreciate any donations to keep this website going. I am currently covering the expenses out of my pocket and we need to cover the costs...

There's the bottom line.
Either we ALL support the site or we ALL lose the site.
I don't see it as a Donation either. I see it as paying for something you receive. A Donation is to the Red Cross or the bag of old clothes to the Salvation Army.

1-So if people don't want to do the right thing, maybe shame them into it?
Maybe for members that have over a post count over X, they should receive a FREELOADER avator if there is no $$$$?

2-How about some internal Auctions for this site? We donate some gear and/or parts and the proceeds go to this site?

3-Have a Monthly Donation Bucket? [like husaberg.org but the owner of that site, json, buys breast milk from japan with the money]

4-Have the shops with the banners pay a fee?

I understand times are tough, but be honest with yourself.....haven't you received a 'product' that has a value here?
And if you have and still think you should get it for free, well grow a pair of balls and tell us all that you are a freeloading putz.
Now if you took a bullet for Jeff, then you deserve a freeride.

Thanks for everything, Jeff! I'm happy to be able to contribute again! Also, thanks to all who post their experience as I've learned enough to save me plenty of money. GMP, GasGasMan, Husley, BrentMartell, Jakobi, SwaziMatt, PEB, Stainless, Bailey28, and many more that I can't think of now...Thank you all for allowing me to avoid $75/hour minimum labor rates just to get some excellent service info! Also, thanks to all GG riders around the world who post here as it shows how one thing (dirt bikes!) can bring us together even if we do talk in pounds and kilos!

I remember back when this was first brought up and I donated gladly, but somehow I was not noted as a donor. I will gladly do this again because I have been helped so much by so many of U. I only wish I lived next door to GMP! That guy know's his s it!

yah,i'll throw some bucks in the barrel as well, what i've learned here over the years,since it was smackover gasgas, has been priceless! i don't have a paypal account ,so can i send a cheque to the webmaster?

I ponied up as well. For the avatar, you might be able to add a logo or sign that says "$$ Site Supporter $$ for those you find that donate to keep it going.

While I think its great to know who is contributing to this websites financial support I'm not a fan of the riders club team avatar that comes with the donation. When I go to a busy thread everyone looks the same if there are a bunch of us that donated, too hard to quickly recognize who's, who. I removed mine last time as I prefer my personalized avatar.

It still says Gold level supporter under my screen name and I think thats good enough. Maybe the font color could be changed so it stands out more than the standard black for those that want to keep their personalized avatar. Just a thought don't know how much time would be involved to input this. Any way, Jeff I donated yesterday again please leave my current avatar in place.

Glad to see that we are open for donations again- i was telling my friend that he should donate, he said it wouldn't accept his donation.So another one will probably be on it's way...
Personally i have no idea how much it costs to maintain a website and am quite happy to help.

I was wondering the same thing. I'm not crazy about the avatar change, but the acknowledgement in the header is a nice touch. Jeff must be pretty busy.
