2002 Pampera - rear calliper

Hello everyone -

I'm posting on behalf of a friend that I ride off-road with. His bike is a 2002 GG Pampera. Mechanically it goes on and on - but sadly the rear calliper seems unwilling to play ball. It's proven extremely difficult to bleed, for one thing. But - more basically - it's just too much brake for the bike, really. In that it's unnecessarily complicated - being a four piston brake - and thus at odds with the well-conceived simplicity of the rest of the bike.

I think I'm being optimistic here but are any other callipers compatible with the Pampera of this particular year, because my mate's really hoping he can replace it with another kind.

Thanks in advance everyone.

I think the brakes are from the trials side of the aisle...

It's my guess that its the same rear caliper that came on the gasgas txt trials bike of the same era.

I don't see anything on e-bay in the U.S. - just guessing from your use of the term "mate" and your username that you are in the U.K.

I would start by looking at the parts fiche for a txt250 (non pro model) and compare it to the part number for the pampera....

Thanks for that. Yes, I'm in the UK. I haven't been able to find a UK-based dedicated GG forum.

At any rate, I'm pretty sure you're right - the calliper is from the txt trials bike, but I'll try to confirm that.

Cheers

Check with Jim Snell he has kit to upgrade the txt rear caliper.

I've already seen that - but thanks, it does seem to offer some hope. ; - )
