Broke one footbeds bone last saturday. It was national cross country race. I left my foot between a rock and clutch cover. Att least it saved my rekluse cover

Can't race or practise for about month if it goes well ...

About 6 weeks ago, I dipped my left foot, smoking through a turn, riding some local single-track. snapped my big toe, on an unseen rock, or something just as hard. Hurt like hell. Since it was just a toe...I continued to ride that day, and any thereafter.

I have had few times broken toes. They are usually painfull as hell and kicking them to some objects can make even grown man crie

I'm gonna be careful with this fracture, because if it heals fast my season is still ok. If it don't... I don't even think about it...

But that's what our sport is. Sometimes it hurts.

I think things could be worse if I didn't have proper boots (Alpinestars Tech 10)...

i've been wearing tech 10's for a few years. i've had some foot/toe/ankle hits over that time. i really think tech 10's protection is lacking considering the price.. not to mention the low durability. i'm considering changing to something else next time.....

A guy in my riding club back about 12-13 years ago slid across a small log on the trail,, front cleared it but the rear hung up, slid into a large tree with his right foot on the peg. He said it hurt real bad the rest of the race which he had about 25-30 miles of a rock run. when he finished and tried to get his boot off it wasn't good and had to go to the hospital. He has smashed his foot so bad he had lost the small toe. He was showing it off at the club christmas party.. Good boots are worth every penny!
I'm hobbling a bit from a side hit in the rocks from last sunday.. foot injuries are hard to hide from the wives..

I bought the Sidi Crossfire's late last year and am thoroughly impressed with the protection - have smoked hidden rocks, roots, and stumps numerous times now and so far no injuries at all. That, and they have held up to the abuse very well.

I've had those Tech 10 boots now 3 years. I think it's time to buy new pair of boots. One thing that I like is tech 10's sole. It has good grip. They have lasted well too.

Dislikes are their heavines and that they are vented versions so they are not waterproof att all.

I've been looking different marks and models.

Have anyone tried Fox Instincts? They att least look protective...

i wish i could get 2 years outta a pair. i love the bootie, but can't stand the fact that the whole boot gets too broken in too fast. way too flexible. i love the sole too, until you gotta replace it. i've not had luck with the inserts staying put...and they are definitely heavy. the fancy leather paint/embossing etc. just wears off fast also...

I like my SG10s, and will buy Garnes again. Clipped a rock sticking out the side of the trail yesterday, just a minor bruise. Could have been worse. I tore the left toe plate half off once with no broken toes.
