Filter Box Air Restrictor

Hi,
Just like to know the function of the "Filter box air restrictor" . If i were to remove it, will it effect the performance of the bike. can anyone help ?

Removing it would increase both top end power and intake noise.

With the restrictor installed on the Euro homologated EC version they are jetted very lean. You should also rejet.
