map switch

A couple of questions/observations arose from my most recent ride.13 ec200
bike is jetted for 10-25deg c, 40p,175m,nozh#2
Recently had a little snow which mostly melted but hard frosts froze what remained on the cold shady backsides(last few days -5 to 5deg),which made for treacherous conditions, hard fast dry on the frontside, half melt or ice on the darkside.
Armed with a 30hr recut rear pirelli with no edge grip i crossed over the backside and began to traverse a steep frosty slope...
the rear wheel got to the bottom first...
#1-its well worth cutting the side face of knobbly as well as just the leading edges!(the edge that bites when rear goes sideways)
no harm done,straighten brake,quick lookover...
#2-the gap between my expansion chamber and rightside rad hose is less than 1mm.no visible heat damage to hose.
Q.is this an issue with heat on hose?and how much clearance on others bikes?
ride on...tear up some hillclimbs and decide the bike is definitely a little lean for 4deg.fiddle the screws and can make no better...i dont usually bother with the map switch but decide to try it...
usually in rain mode throttling is a little fluffy(10-25),but today at 4deg its noticeably cleaner than the sunny mode which hints at a bog 1/4throttle
#3-rain map more effective at the cold extreme of your jetting temp range.

just finished recutting side knobbly, dropped clip to#3,repack muffler in 2deg garage.good to go:D
Q.anyone made a tool for prising fuel line off carb?ive been using the time honoured method of screwdriver blade into fleshy part of left hand!

It's good idea cover this hose with exaust tape. Just in case.
