What to expect for 2016?

Lets talk about something more optimistic for a change.

Is there anything Mark or Rod you can discuss that we can look forward to in the model line-up for 2016?

Yes! Let's hear the gossip! How about air forks? Fuel injection? Lighter? HID lighting? Better Footpegs?

Sorry, but if they can't afford to pay factory workers to build 2015 bikes for the last 6 months I highly doubt they've had their R&D engineers working on 2016 upgrades. Looking forward to the dust clearing from this shakeup. 2017-18 will be good recovery years for GasGas...

Optimistically speaking, the brand will still exist.

If it does, the factory may turn out a few 2016 bikes that missed months of development, have been hastily built by workers that have been laid off for months, have components from unknown suppliers - Zokes is gone, the rest that got stiffed in a liquidation are not likely to be eager to return; think stuff like swingarms, brakes, carbs, cables, plastics, nuts & bolts, etc. GG has struggled with fit and finish issues in the past, and this is not going to make that better.

Sounds like a recipe for disaster to me to purchase a 2016. If they can get through it, 2017 and beyond may yield great results.

Unfortunately for me, my 5 year plan dictates that I will be purchasing a 2016 ride, and it won't be a GG. Lots of stuff I like about the brand, but there are things that I would like to see addressed before I drop $10K on a new 2016 model. Given the current situation, I don't see that happening, and I'm not willing to take that chance.

I get that the liquidation/re-structure has to happen to secure the brand's future, but it will compromise the 2016 bikes.

DG, I'm all for being optimistic and can see what you were hoping to achieve with this thread, but already in a few posts I can see it swinging the other way.

Realistically, I agree with the others above.

I feel they will be lucky to produce a decent run of bikes for 2016, and even luckier if they can find a market to buy them. I hate to be gloomy, but people want confidence when making a purchase that they will continue to receive post sales service. Its hard to be confident when the factory has been stagnant and in the midst of restructure.

I'm hopeful (and quietly confident) that Gas Gas will move forward through this challenge (as they have in the past), but I doubt 2016 will hold much more than trying to implement the new business model.

It's a shame, but sales will/and have been lost.

I'm thinking more like '2015 parts bin leftover, or whatever fits'.

Anybody see what the Italian Husky factory produced after the SP/KTM buyout in 2013? Some of those bikes looked like they were put together after a blue light clearance parts special!

Bahaha yup.

This is a GasGas forum, fellas, so bring your new allegiance to an appropriate audience elsewhere, if you must. In the meantime, let's keep things classy and get back to supporting those of us who own, maintain, and operate a fantastic Spanish offroad motorcycle. Let's continue to help keep our own bikes running strong on the trail and in contention at the races. Life goes on, and so does the pre-2016 GasGas braaaaaap...
