MY2012 Tease

Alright gentlemen, it's time to put the rubber to the road, or trail, or something :D

Without giving away details that you should be discussing with your dealer, I can tell you that pricing for 2012s have been released and it looks fantastic.

The model line-up has been pared to 200 Race, 250 and 300 Race, and 250 and 300 estart Race. One additional crumb I will throw out there is that e-start only adds $200 to the MSRP of the (base) Race bikes. :)

Get those deposits in - you could be on a new bike by Thanksgiving, or find one under your Christmas tree, or even ring in the New Year on a little one.

I didn't know Steve was that cruel to tease you guys like that. :) I was going to post the prices on the 12 thread but I will do it here, too.

XC200 US Race $7449
XC250 US Race $8299
XC250 US Race with e-start $8499
XC300 US Race $8349
XC300 US Race with e-start $8549

These prices are MSRP. There is also a $300 freight charge on each unit.
Dealers have to place their orders with us for the rest of the 2012 model year by the end of October. If you plan on buying a 2012, it would be helpful to put in an order with your dealer as soon as possible so that he knows how many to order.
Thanks for your business!
Clay

Clay,

What is driving the large difference in price between XC200 vs. XC250/300?

The price of the KTM more than anything. Our price and the dealer price is based on a percentage markup over the price from the factory. The factory gave us a better price on the 200 than the 250 after looking at the orange bike prices in the US. They told me they were shocked at how cheap the orange bikes are here in the US compared to other countries. In most other countries, according to the factory sales manager, Gas Gas is up to $800 less tha KTM but here KTM is less. I think that is due to KTM competing against aggressive Japanese brand pricing.
To complete the explanation......I think the factory was willing to take a slimmer margin on the 200 to help us be competitive.

Very AWESOME! Thanks Steve and Clay. Now Clay....any news on the cost of an add-on starter for that 200?

I don't think Mark at GF has gotten an answer back from Spain yet. Sometimes "urgent" for Spain is in a week or two. :)

Thanks. I'll get with Mark and give him my number so he can give me a call when he gets the pricing.
