make it faster!

:D Colud anyone give me some info on making my ec300 perform like a motocrosser kx250 or cr250, I have been doing some motocrossing on the EC but it doesnt quite keep up, when I swap for a kx or cr they have more snap and basically leave the EC behind. Any modifications I could do or buy to make the EC have motocross performance? Please help.

I guess the first place to start is by determining which ignition you have. The 2K-2 has lighter flywheel and has a more agressive hit.

After that I would look at your jetting. A triple taper needle like the N1EF will also give you quite a big hit.

Pipes make a big difference as well. The Doma or 06 on GG factory pipes like revs alot more than say a FMF Gnarly.

Id imagine the ignition to be standard, how can I find these things out? How can I tell ifts the 2k-2 ? etc and where can I get the needle from and the pipe.

I race MX on a 01 300 and recently had Varner Motorsports do the head and carb. Now it is a completly different bike.It was good before but now it really rips. The first time the gate dropped I almost looped out and still pulled a second place start. Now I have three hole shots in a row.I run 13/51 gearing but I'm going to try a 50.I also have a LTR powervalve cover. My jetting is MJ-165 PJ-35 N-n3vf out of a YZ250 clip in the 3rd slot.
