EC300 - 2012 - Seat upgrade/release from above

Hi guys,

Due to a little crash my licenseplate holder (the part thats supports the rear fender) is broken. So now I have to rely on duckt tape at the moment. :p

at first I ordered this one: http://www.enduropuro.it/shop/en/lic...ating-kit.html
but now it appears they dont stock it anymore and it is no longer produced by gasgas.

So now they've adviced me to order this one:
http://www.enduropuro.it/shop/en/lic...ort-12-15.html

shape is exactly the same for 12-15 models, but on the 2012 the seat is mounted by a screw from below, but for 2013-... models, the seat is mounted by a screw on top. They tell me to modify the seat that it can be screwed from on top.
I have to admit that it would be nice to have it from above with a quarter twist bolt, but when I just drill a hole through the seat and seat cover, dirt and rain will get in.

Any tips here?

anyone who already did this?

thanks for your stories or tips!

grtzzz

You could use a seat cover off the 2013 bike. There's a grommet in the cover that seals out water etc.

Don't know if it's what your after but I have the 2012r. I simply drilled a hole through the seat cover and support. I inserted a bolt n lock nut with a washer top and bottom. I tighten it up and I have never had a problem with water out dirt entering the seat. Not as quick as a dzeus screw though..
