Fork oil level ?

The last 2 times I changed my seals they leaked so I bit the bullet this time and paid to have them done by Factory Connection. :(
They came back with a settings sticker that says the oil is at 150mm. Isn't 125-130mm more the norm for WP43 ? How do you think 150mm will feel ?
I've got a race in the sand this weekend. I don't know if the fork oil I have is compatible with what's in there if I wanted to add some.

Brian,

You should be OK. 145 - 150mm is where I always set the WP43s on my '00 and '03. I never bottomed the fork. The rock valving is more of a limitation for serious whoop riding than 10 - 20 mm of oil.

Good luck at Sandy Lane, first year I won't be there in a long time.:(

Thanks for the reassurance Glenn. Sad you won't be there this year.
I don't mess with whoops. We don't even have a whoop around here. LOL !
I hang on the side and just double them and watch the pros go WFO. :D

While I'm at it, the clickers are 24C/7R.
Any point to changing them a bit for down there ?

I go in on the comp until it gets harsh hitting those root balls and braking bumps/holes. 7R is cranked in pretty good already, maybe consider stiffening the rebound valving a bit next time. If the front comes up at you too fast after a deep compression crank in a bit more.

The overall problem is the bike tends to dive more under braking with the plush rock suspension, then you hit the roots or sharp edge holes while the fork is down in the travel and its a real stinger. Thats whats tough here as far as setup goes, we have both rocks and sand. Down there in the pines you could probably get away with MX suspension.

I have to heal a lot more before I'm good to ride, its going OK just a bit slow.
