With the nasty rock sections, Gotta wonder if a pampera would make a good cheater bike for that. Cruise the fast sections and when you get to the nasty sections just go into trials mode clamber through and be on your way. No hucking the bike or beating yourself up trying to ride trials terrain on a woods racer.

Maybe for some mortals, but I've witnessed Knights ability live to pull off trials tricks on his 525. Someone told me they saw him practising straight up 4-6' trials splatters on his 525. I asked him when he was in Canada which bike he liked the best and he said the 525, but for LMS, Erzberg etc he will use the 300 so he can do the trials stuff easier.

Wonder if Cole is going to try it this year?

Now to see the baja winner do this will be a sight to see!

Yes, Cole will be riding.
Don't know if Geoff Aaron will be on a GG.
He is now a Montesa rider.

" just got word that the qualifing has been changed to a more technical course in the woods with several hill climbs. The qualifing course will be more like the race course and everyone must qualify. " tbauman on KTMtalk

Anyone know if there's any truth in this?

And I'm planning on being there :)

Boomhauer 12-02-2006 03:46 AM

Well here is an update. I got into town yesterday and Jim Cook had called me from LMS and said they canceled the qualifying round due to lack of entrants.

Looks like everybody is scared of how we do things here in TEXAS!!!:D

It snowed here Thursday night so maybe that scared em away. Heck if you can have 1300 people show up for Erzberg why can't we get that here?

We have less then 150 riders trying their hand at it. I will post up after the event tonight. Rumor has it that Pastrana was going to try and make it but that was just thru the Grapevine.
