Case hole?

School me. What is the tapped hole in the bottom of the cases for? The small hole forward of the drain plug as seen in this photo from the owners manual.

If you're talking about the one without the plug it's a drain/vent for the flywheel/stator cavity. It is meant to be left open. The other one (with threaded plug) drains the crank case in case of a water drowning.
