1998 Gas Gas ec250 kickstand
 

I am Restoring my 98 Gas Gas Ec 250. I did a full engine rebuilt, as well as forks, rear linkage, and rear shock.
Everything is going well until i saw that it has a threaded hole on the left side frame next to the foot peg. I did some search and it looks like its for a kick stand. Does anyone know where i can get a kickstand, or any aftermarket one.
Im Just tired of having to lay it on trees or dropping it in emergencies.

Your also missing the lower chain roller then or have you got the bracket attached with the roller ?

EC250, I have the chain roller with the bracket. But it sometimes rubs against the tire. will replace it with some aftermarket one.

The roller he is talking about is on the kickstand bracket .

Oh , then I don't have it. I have a roller closer to the sprocket. Will any other brand kickstand fit? Or any other year?

Number 40 is the bracket, as far as I know there are no aftermarket stands. Any year stand will fit the older ones are shorter and have a bigger foot it is also made of steel

Regarding the bracket, that's the part your going to find hard to get, I live in the UK and was lucky enough to find a fella in Texas selling an as new second hand one on Ebay, but there as rare as hens teeth, all the other parts roller/spring/side stand/bolts are all easy to get from dealers, but lots of people do fabricate there own.

Best bet is to list a wanted add here and keep an eye on ebay took me about 2 months to get one. Just took a look

I was talking to the fella who owns BikeTech here in the UK who has been a main dealer for over 20 years and he said due to such high demand, phone calls every other day asking for brackets , he will soon start to making the brackets himself.

Please keep us up to date if he does!
