Hi im looking into purchasing an 01 EC300. I couldnt find very much info on the bike online and was wondering if anyone had any input on the bike. Suspension, motor etc. I mostly do trail riding and wanted to know what everyone thinks about this beautiful machine. Thanks

Hi sluey...Welcome to the GasGas Rider's Club.

Like Dean has suggested...Buy It !!! Once you ride a Gasser it's hard to ride anything else.

If you're looking for OEM parts try GoFasters not a bad place for after market bling too.
Or post up in our Classifieds under "Wanted to Buy" & "Want To Trade"
Lots of members have items for sale and are willing to part with them for a fair price.

FYI put your mouse over the 'bold' 'underline' fonts to open up web pagers mention.http://www.cafehusky.com/smilies/thumbsup.gif

I loved my 01xc300. I bought it off ebay back in 05 for $1650. It was a race bike and while it looked a little rough it was in great shape mechanically. I rode it 2 years before buying a new 07 gasser. The forks were WP43s and the motor was awsome on the bottom, strong in the middle, but flat on top. My bike had a Gnarly pipe so that probably had a lot to do with the flatness on top. With the right pipe and jetting these 300s can scream on top like a 250.

A friend of mine bought a 2002 brand new off the floor. He still has it too! It's been a great bike and rock solid dependable. They don't wear out like the Japanese bikes do either. Good luck.

I have one. Great bike. Do your maintenance and as others have said, GOFasters is the source for parts. Their website has updated parts micro fische so you can see the exploded diagrams for everything.

I primarily trail ride, it is fantastic. Lot's of bottom end. Mine had an issue with fouling plugs. Took a while to trace down, but it was due to the carb floats not being set up right. Found the info on this site to set it up correctly and it runs great now.
