power valve triangle plate
So while trying to undo the nut that holds the link rod in place I have broken the lug off the triangle actuator plate. I'm not sure if I can repair, maybe drill the plate and put a bolt through?
Where are people in Australia buying parts from now that gasgas Australia is no longer the importer. New importer still has no parts site online. Cheers. |
Been there done that. What did I do? Think I welded something back in from the back. A while back and a few beers tonight.
Find an old time engineer dude and give him whatever he asks. |
Many warnings here about that.
For those that haven't heard...torch the nyloc nut to melt the plastic before trying to remove it. |

I think jay has knocked it on the head and is out of the game now.
Close motocycles in marrickville (Sydney) will get the part you require. |
The pin is just tack welded into the plate from what I remember. Should be able to have a decent welder do the same for you, making it better than new.
|
Yeah I used a pretty dreadful welder (me) but its still hanging in there just fine. I had to add a washer so it turned without getting hung up.
|
I'd probably just blow a hole through the whole tab if I tried.. or spatter it with bird poo... ;)

Ahh. So you know my secret techniques.
Actually I just took my old gasless mig to the tip. I feel much more competent with my new welder. Although I'm yet to spark it up. I've had it over a month. . . Can't believe it. Too much else on. |
Wait until you try alloy...one sec theres a weldpool then "pffft"....gone...all gone...
Quite demoralising if you thought you could weld reasonably with stick and mig... |
