Another New XC300 Owner

It's official, my garage is now an orange free zone. :D

Pickup up my 300 yesterday in VT from a great dealer

Took a small rip on it when I got it home and got a real big grin. It didn't want to clean out down low, so I need to fiddle with the jetting. I'm torn between this one and the blacked-out 2010's for 1st place on my all-time best looking dirt bike list. Very impressive.

Congrats.

I'm Picking up my new 2011 300SD on the 26th of this month. Cant wait to see it.

Nice! Is it E-start? Looks like you got the Sachs shock too. Check the top of your carb to see if you got a 38 or 36 for jetting purposes. Enjoy!

Not an e-start. I'm sure I'll miss the button on occasion, but I opted for the kicker. I also opted for the Sachs units after talking to a couple suspension guys. Lots of love from owners for the zokes/ohlins setup though, so we'll see.

The carb is stamped 38. Have they been true to their stamp or I should I be skeptical and measure it anyway?

Mine is stamped a 36 and is indeed a 36, so I think the stamps are accurate. Just wanted to give you a heads up, because in some of the jetting threads the 2011 300's were all over the place before we discovered that some '11's were shipped with 38's and others were shipped with 36's.

Thanks. Yeah I was in those threads and bookmarked a lot of them for reference when I got mine. I can see why there was all the confusion.

The dealer re-jetted mine with what worked for him, but it's for more warmer temps than now. He marked the carb with I think 175 main, 35 pilot, and #2 clip, which I assume is the stock needle. Not sure how that matches up with what others have gone to with the 38's, so I need to revisit those threads.

Nice Ride.
I've heard of a few electing to op out with the e-start. At the very least you have save yourself a bit of weight which is always a good thing.
When I got my 2010 I had full intention on getting the e start kit when it became available.
But now I see how easy this bike is to start and how hard it is to stall. I really don't see the point on spending the extra $$.:D

Bonus Features

Well done on your purchase. You managed to sneak in the axle pull and Galfer rotors on your XC, not to mention the rear reservoir cooler. It's almost as if this bike was the love child of an EC and a Six Days :D
