2010 EC300 Top Speed?

Hi All,

I am considering 2010 EC300 as my next bike.
I plan to ride/race on singletrack, but occasionally need to ride backroads, rarely all day.

With stock gearing, what would be the top cruising speed?

My Husky TE310 sucked on road. If EC300 is similar, I may move forward with Husaberg FE450/570.

Cheers,

Burhan

why stick with the stock gearing?
play with the gearing, it's got a 6-speed gearbox anyway.
and why go to another brand when you could have such a great bike as a gasser? :D
have you ever tried one before?
i bought myself an older one (2000) but still i'm amazed by its capabilities (more then i can make it do  ) and i'm very happy with it.
can't really imagine any other brand feeling the same.

think about it...;)

ciao, hannes.

Stk gearing in my opinion is way faster then you want to go on the road with dirt wheels. If I were to guess I would say 70+. Do not hold me to it.

I have not tried one. Actually I've never ridden 2T more than a mile.
I am just keeping my options open :)

70+mph? Then, the gearbox is not much close-ratio. My Husky TE310 was 6-speed but top crusing speed was 50mph, very close-ratio.

Thanks,

Burhan

te310 40hp. ec300 50hp.

my 200 with offroad gearing will do 60ish.

mine does full speed 80mph, but still thinking about putting a 14t front sprocket instead of the 13t, rear has to be like 48-ish i guess, on my ec 300.
never really need 1st gear anyway, not for what i do.
i don't do any rock crawling, steep hills ,it luggs along fine in 2nd. :D

hannes.

please do try a gasser, you'll find yourself eleminating allmost (if not all) other options.
i've ridden some other 4 strokers and found myself regularly stalling at some obstacles, wich i now pass effortlessly and not because i got better but rather because you actually have to WANT to stall it to make it
that engine is just like a tractor, it keeps me amazed.

the only downside of the 2stroker ,to me, is the milage.
but then again, i don't ride that long distances and in total i make about
5000 km a year (we don't have many options around here, to go have a fun ride)

let us know what the outcome of your choice is,ok?

ciao, hannes.

Two different bikes.

My 2007 fe550 Husaberg is considerably faster than my Gas Gas and much more enjoyable to ride at speeds above 50. The Husaberg is an incredible bike, it really is, but there have been many a times where I know I would be having a lot more fun if I was riding my Gas Gas.

When I daydream while I am sitting behind my desk, as I often do, I am dreaming about riding my Gas Gas, not my Husaberg.

Good luck!

I am a member of a dual sport club but I do not like compromise in life
I have Vstrom for street and looking for a dirtbike mainly for singletrack riding.

I think EC300 will fit my needs better, just need speedometer/odometer, brake-light, horn to make it street-legal.

I am surprised that Chilly White's 2009 EC300 review is not as good as I expected.
