txt 200 pro question
was out tooling around on my 2002 txt200 pro and all of the sudden had a huge coolant leak.. the sensor came out of the housing and i dont see how it was in there..
can or should it be bypassed and wire the fan direct or get a replacement housing/switch ? thanks in advance jay |
I would try and get it back in the housing again. Even if you had to use some Tie wraps or High Temp silicone to hold it in place. I've heard of wiring them to a switch. But I would rather have the fan only come on when needed not running on a switch.

it is like something is missing..
here is the switch it is smooth.. http://i195.photobucket.com/albums/z...Picture379.jpg here is the housing.. there is somekind of a groove on the inside of it.. http://i195.photobucket.com/albums/z...Picture378.jpg it looks like an oring would go in it, but i dont know what would hold the switch in... |
Tried to look it up for ya...but nothing prior to 05 is listed. Yes I would say a very small high tem o-ring is missing.
Give Jeff a shout tomorrow @ Gofasters 320-839-7143 He'll be able to help ya out. http://www.cafehusky.com/forums/imag...ies/cheers.gif |

i have some stuff on order there already.. thanks for checking.. the later txt's they moved that switch...wonder why |
Ya I went out and pulled my tank on my 07. And I'm pretty sure it's located in the rad somewhere.
I think I remember a little metal clip holding the sensor in place on my old JTR 270. (inline tee same as yours.) Let us know how you make out. |
will do...thanks
|
as a follow up... if you are ever looking for gg trials info..
lost of parts manuals.. http://www.trialspartsusa.com/tech.html |
it appears the fan has quit also... that is probably what started this deal..
got hot and pushed the sensor out.... |

Ya know that's not too bad.
My fuel pump just went on my TE510...That little puppy is gonna be over $500:eek: |
that is what i thought...i may try to do some looking around and try to change it to the newer style like yours also.. in the last few months there have been complete units on ebay rad,fans,all....none today
i am in amarillo tx, the closest trails dealer is in dallas.. sent him an email yesterday with my cel as a contact... he called me about 430 yesterday and was very helpful... the bike came from the dfw area... he knows it and the prev owner.. small trials bike world.. he told me a few other things to check also.. pretty cool jay |

Huskydude, I heard about some of these Husky issues. A Ducati pump/flange assy(as its sold) is over $900:eek: , but the pump alone can be found as a generic off the shelf part for $150! Before I drop over $500 on a pump that will likely fail again(they just should not fail) I'd look at alternatives even if it means an external pump and regulator. Is that price for the flange assy? My Cannondale used the same pump as a Ford Ranger I could get anywhere for less than $100 and it never failed anyway. jhender3702, Same setup as my wife's '02 250 Pampera. Fan went bad from being jammed after a fall, and also took out the rectifier, so check that too. |
that is what the guy at the trails store said.. check the rectifier also, but could not tell me how to check it...
any thoughts gmp ? |
Well, ours was obvious as it had a big melted plastic blister on the side. I don't have the drawing/color codes handy, but if you do just use a DMM with a diode test mode from input to output. If I remember its just a simple half wave rectifier. If I have time I'll look at the Pampera tommorrow.

thank you jay |
ordered parts today.... supposed to get them in a week or so...
cant wait to get my trial's back... |
got the stuff in last night... got the same kind of thermostat.. i dont see what the retainer holds on to, to hold it in... it is pretty snug, but i think i am gonna safety wire it in or zip tie one of the two..
also the fan is a new design... gonna have to put the connector off my old one on it and re drill mounting screws... hopefully tonight i will get it back together.. |
seems to work fine
|
the fan and t stat work great.. had another wierd deal with it ..
took it out riding, played around on it a little.. put it up and went for a trail ride... we had the flat fairy visit us that day and i was lucky enough to get one, so i put the big bike up and got the trials out.. rode it around a little, was climbing a big rock, got stuck, gassed it and did a wheelie turn, went back to the area we were, shut it off.. we went to go ride alitttle and it would not start.. nothing...so i loaded it up also.. got it home, took the tank off, checked spark.. all good...compression felt good.... put it back together and it fired right up....been running fine since.. any ideas ?? felt like no fuel... do the tank vents give problems ? just wondering... jay |
