Is the chain tension on 2018 correct

If I look in the user guide to Gas Gas 2018.
Page 56
1. motorcycle without load and with the side stand out: There should be a space
of 30 ~ 36 mm. between the chain and the swingarm in the rear area of the
chain guide. you can check with your fngers, but without overly forcing it.
2. Loosen the rear axle nut (1).
3. find the point of maximum tension on the chain.
4. using the nuts (2) of the tensioner, align the alignment of the chain on both
ends of the swingarm using the notches on the swingarm and the lugs on
the adjusters.
5. Tighten the nuts (2).
6. Tighten the nut (1).
7. check again at the point of maximum tension and re-adjust it if necessary.
Is this mesurment correct 30-36mm?
If I sit on the saddle and feel the chain, the chain is buckled like a violin string. Is this correct?

I set mine to about 55mm.

Once I have the chain where I want it.
I place a wrench between the chain and rear sprocket, rotate the wheel backwards.
Then tighten the axle nut.
This puts tension on the adjusters, so no further tightening is needed.

+1. One of the best uses for an 8mm wrench.

As the saying goes "Loose chain, happy chain"

36mm is far to tight, I too have set it to 55mm.

You reach the highest tension of the chain when the center of the front sprocket is in line with the rear axle. Adust the chain to 36mm and let a mate push the bike down, then have a look and everything becomes clear :) I have no clue what the guys at the factory have done the night before they wrote the owners manual ...https://www.smilies.4-user.de/includ..._trink_087.gif
