2005 DE250 Jetting

Hi. I just picked up a new 2005 DE 250 and have purchased the LTR jetting kit. The kit came with the -0 needle and I have a #7 slide.

With this kit, what main jet, needle clip, pilot jet and air screw position would you all generally recommend ?

I ride desert enduros at altitudes usually between 2500 and 4500 feet. Temps 80s to 90s. B rider.

Gracias !

The kit should come with jets, did you purchase it through a dealer? These are not typically sold without corresponding fuel jets.

For your parameters, you should fall in this area for your 05 250;

Main 178 to 175
-0 needle, clip 3 or 2
pilot jet 42, use 45 if it will run clean with it.
air screw 1.25 to 1.75 turns out

The first figure for each circuit is your starting point and should get you very close, the second figure for each circuit is for fine tuning per specific RPM range if needed.

Did you get the main instructions and separate additional instructions for setting the air screw?

Mr. Tinius - thanks for the reply.

The kit was indeed purchased through a dealer and came with a 178 main and a 48 pilot. It seemed those might be just a little bit rich for my area.

It did come with very specific instructions about completely backing out the idle screw, then adjusting the air screw, and then setting the idle.

Thanks again for your help .. and thanks for contributing so much to all that is GasGas !
