Ya might want to start here:
http://trailtech.net/lights.html And if you are really serious: http://www.touratech-usa.com/ I know some people that swear by a single helmet light. They do not ride fast open stuff, but, tight single track and putting around camp and to the outhouse. They set up a connector like a headphone jack with a coiled up strechie cord like on a phone. Wire it into the bikes electrical system with the plug up between the bars. And mount the light on their helmet with hi-strength velcro. If they fall the cord detaches at the headphone jack so they don't get choked by the wire. I have been wanting one of these for some time: http://trailtech.net/helmet_light_kits.html I have an '02 XC300 converted to an EC300. Like you I installed the 2K3 ingition. I also did the DC conversion and added a sealed lead acid battery with a rectifier. It now powers all the lights, signals and horn without having the motor running. I may get one of the bar mount halogen units one of these days. Kind of like this one: http://www.trailtech.net/3152-FX.html Let us know what you come up with. Good luck. Jeff So. Cal. |
thanks jeff. i have been looking at the trail tech lights also.
I ride with a buddy that has a wr450, the light on that bike is awesome. i have rode the 300 with the stocker at night and anthing above a very conservative pace is pretty spooky.. |

Jay.
Do you have you head light wired up for high beam use only? The two outer terminals on the bulb connector are for the high beam. |
it is on the two outer terminals.
could you run both low and high ?? |

Go raid your parts dept and find a HID bulb with the ballast and rig that up. :D :D |
that's a thought... will keep a look out for one of those.

Your friendly body shop may have 'em.:D
