GG parts crossover to '14 Beta 300rr
I'm seriously looking at a '14 Beta 300rr. I'm hoping some of U Beta 2t owners know if some of my GG parts will fit the Beta. I have Force radiator guards and another brand with just side impact protection with no name on them. Shark fins, EE bark busters, Cycra bark busters, footpegs, fmf tubine core 2 with spark arrester. Trying to save a few bucks. Thanks.

Sorry, but looking at the list I think handguards may be all you could salvage.

Not a whole lot of KTM to Beta cross-over, either. Some, not much.

.. Maybe the radiator guards you could adapt.. maybe the ktm pegs could fit... Really the hand guards are probably the main addition.. but you getting a 14' and put some old stuff on it? I don't know.. you get a beautiful bike and put some scratched up stuff to put on it?... maybe just hold off and just get the rear disc guard and other key stuff from Beta on the BYOB program.. seems a bit of a sacriledge

Fork bleeders are the same as a KYB (5mm thread dia.), larger than the WP units. Air filters won't fit, I can just tell you by looking.
All I've done to my Beta is carefully grease it, install heavier springs for my weight, have TwoWheels revalve my fork and install radiator guards, pipe guard and a BRP submount for my Scotts Damper I had laying around. Really don't know if the damper would be needed, if I didn't have it already. Heavier tubes are a good idea, but I really like the stock Michelins, especially the oversized balloon (140/80) on the rear. Jetting is stock, and I haven't messed with the PV adjuster yet either. Fork springs from a Yamaha SSS fork like my 2006 YZ fit, along with KYB rear springs, although KYB's rears have a slightly larger dia. I do like that Beta already has all kinds of aftermarket parts available already, which I'll look at as I wear out stock parts. |
Thanks Hawkeye. Looks like I'll order an extra air filter too. Has anybody adapted a spark arrester to the stock muffler? I've read that the Fmf Q is heavy and bulky. Did U need to change the gearing? I need to give Two Wheels a call. Thanks.

There is also a Q Stealth available, but unfortunately (and undoubtedly partly because of that) FMF has yet to produce a TC2 for the Betas. |
Stock gearing. Rode for 4 days straight in terrain ranging from sandy fire roads to rock gardens and never gave a thought about gearing. Seems to work everywhere. 300 cc probably contributes to that!
TwoWheels, keep me posted on your silencer mods, I'd like to add some spark arrestor to what I have. I do like how quiet the bike is now though. Stock skidplate seems adequate if you aren't always in rocky terrain, but if that's the case, I'd look at a Hyde or some other polymer plate. Aluminum sticks to rocks rather than glide over. |
Good info guys. Thanks.
