gasgas e12 kids bike

Bit of a different question here I am hoping someone can help with. I have a gasgas e12 for the kids I am having problems with.
The battery is fully charged reading around 51 volts however, the readout on the accelerator is saying that the battery is flat.
I started removing the throttle to see if there was some sort of problem there and could see that the throttle assembly was cracked. Wiring coming out of the throttle all gave a reading. So I am wondering if the throttle is faulty and somehow sending a signal to the motor fooling it to think it has a flat battery.
Page 31 of the manual https://gasgasmotorcycles.com.au/wp-...ids-Manual.pdf
shows a wiring diagram for those that think they may be able to help.
thanks

Did you check the fuses? According to the diagram, there should be one 30A main fuse and one 0.5A fuse to the accelrator.
What do you mean by "all gave a reading"? What did you measure, and what was the result?

Thanks for the reply Anders. I checked both fuses and they are fine. I'll check the readings with the multi meter again n post my findings. Hopefully get a chance to look at it tomorrow..

Disclaimer: I have never seen these bikes in use, just at the importer's shop, so I have zero experience with how they work. All I say is based on the electric diagram only:

When you turn on both the key and ON switch at the accelrator I would expect something to happen on one of the wires, most likely the yellow/green wire to the controller. You should then be able to measure the battery voltage there. I presume this controls the power supply to the controller.

I presume the violet, black and green wires carry the "speed" signal to the controller, most likely it's just a potentiometer. I presume the black is 0V / earth, one (perhaps violet?) is a fixed voltage, e.g. 5V or 12V while the last one is the signal, varying between 0V and the fixed voltage as you turn the throttle.

But I could of course be completely wrong, as I said, I have never used / measured /serviced these bikes.

build your own lithium battery

Ok,
quick update is that the pcm on my lithium battery was faulty and this has resulted in the battery also failing. Now to the scary part, a new battery is $900 AUD. I have done a little investigating and I am considering building my own battery. There seems to be heaps of info online and it doesnt seem to be that difficult.
So has anyone on the forum ever done this and does anyone have any advice?

thanks

My son's gasgas e12 only lasts about 20mins now, it's a year old and I'm guessing the batteries need renewing.

It's the 36v 16in the model, I can get the same 3 batteries but would rather upgrade if possible, I've read some of these suggestions for the oset bikes does anyone know if the same can be done to the gasgas e12, obv I don't want to fry the motor.

Also if I was to upgrade to lithium batteries, what's the best size, AH charger etc?
