2018 ec250 jetting help!!

Ok I have battled my bike now for a few rides (UK based) I was running a 40pilot 172 main clip 1down and she felt a bit rich All over so swapped to 38p and 170m clip 4down but still does not feel right, using standard needle still.
Is there a better set up as I love the bike but the spooge and crap fuel consumption is being a big problem to me now, so please any help is warmly welcomed

Throw that stock needle as far as you can. It just plain sucks. Get a N3CH, N3CJ, or a NEDW. With the N3CH and N3CJ you will need a 178-180 main and a 40 pilot. The NEDW will want a 175ish main.

Morning Memphis,
Thanks for the reply,I will order a new needle in the morning and give it a go with your settings, thanks for the info, love the bike but the jetting is so wrong from new 👍

Leelee, I had shit jetting for 6 months - until I got my head cut.

Lowered squish (1.35mm) & reshaped the bowl to keep comp at 13.5/1.

Now, 42p/175m, NEDW #2, a/s 1.5, Motul 710 in 98RON. Tech s/t & rocks, 17c today.

Bike is smooth, quiet & super-tractable. More low/mid power. Same bonkers top end!!

Get your head cut first before you do what I did & spend half a year chasing spooge and loving & hating the bike all at the same time.
