JD Jetting settings for linear power delivery?

Hi guys,
I have a 2009 EC250 Racing (2k-3 ignition, LTR powervalve cover, stock pipe and silencer) and am having some jetting issues. Well, no issues getting the bike to be crisp, but at the moment it's an animal. It's hitting very hard in the midrange which while fun, doesn't make for fast lap times off road. My current jetting settings are:

Pilot: 45
Air screw: 1.25 turns out
Slide: #7
Needle: JD blue
Needle Clip: 4
Main: 180

I had the clip in the 3rd position and air screw at 2.5 turns for some cooler temperatures (elevation was around 1600ft), but it warmed up so I tried dropping the needle clip to #4 and turning in the air screw and now the bike is an arm ripper. It still lugs down low quite nice, but has a major hit in the midrange. I'm guessing I need to change the needle/needle clip and make it slightly richer, which will probably mean changing the pilot jet as well to get it to run clean down low.

My next ride will be in Kamloops, BC at the Big Kahuna race. Elevation is 1200ft.

Anyone using the JD jetting kit have some settings for nice linear power delivery?

I would call and talk to him about what you are looking for. He's supposed to be great with support. That's what I would do;)

I'm pretty sure his custom needles are triple taperd which tend to give that hit more than say a CEK or CCK straight taper needle.

CCK #3 (You may think it's too sleepy, being an expert, but it is linear.) :)

Yup - CCK in clip 2 or 3 should sort it.

Why 45 pilot ?Thats quite rich. Try a 40 or 42

The triple tapers go from a bit rich on the bottom to crisp in the middle, resulting in a strong mid range hit.

My favorite for linear power is the CCK needle in clip 3.

Steve I'm running the same specs as you but with the clip in #3, but I have the older carb not the short body. Bike runs absolutely perfect!
