I have looked on here and not found it but does anyone know of an idiots guide to what needs to be done to rebuild the rear master cylinder? I guess its just take out whats there clean and put back together but having never done it some advice would be good of all the steps.

ive take it off and its still attached to the brake lever.

Thanks in advance

Buy a kit. If it's a Nissin, and depending on year of the bike, it will be marked either 11mm or 1/2 in big ol' typeface. Pulling it apart and putting it together with the same rubber bits is a good way to waste a bunch of brake fluid.

Pull it completely off the bike. Pull the rubber boot off the bottom, remove snap ring, pull innards out and replace rubber components. Reverse. There are quite few videos on youtube as well.
