EC125 2008 clutch fiber plates

Hi!

I arranged to buy a 2008 EC125 and the seller found out at the last moment that there is something strange with the clutch. He never changed the plates until now so he is going to check them out.

I checked the distributor's prices for oem plates and they cost 25 euros a piece! After that I started checking for aftermarket plates and the only ones I found were the DP set at 45 pounds from trialendurodirect. Has anybody tried them? Are they OK? Do they last? Just thinking for the future as I want to keep this bike for at least 1 year. I used an EBC fiber plate set (52 euros the set) for my ex YZ125 '08 without problems, so I would think DPs would last long time as well (?).

Is there a crossover from other brand (Honda CR)?

Thank you in advance!

Leon

Husqvarna 125 plates are identical.

Good to know! A Hinson clutch for a Honda CR125 goes right in too.

Thank you for the replies! Great to know about the Husqvarna plates because the WR125 is quite famous in Finland and oem parts from the distributor are cheap.

If I go the Honda CR route, did you mean that I would need the whole clutch assembly from Hinson for the latest CR model or some older one?

Thank you again,

Leon

I use clutch plates and springs out of a 2001 Honda CR125. They go right in and work great.

Older CR125, don't remember off hand but spans quite a few years through the '90s. Do a search its here somewhere. We did the entire clutch, basket went right on the GG gear.

Thank you again for the clarifications! From the same shop 15 min drive from my home I can find EBC kits with or without springs and metal plates for both WR125 and Honda CR125 for around 50 euros.

Thank you,

Leon
