03 EC hubs

So ive been reading through alot of threads. From what i can gather, if i want to turn my rear 19" rim into an 18", i CANT just take my stock AJP rear hub and get any 18" rim from EXCEL, Talon, DiD, etc and some spokes for it and make it work? The angles are specific for hub, spoke bend, and rim.

Correct.

Crap! So what changed from 03 to 04 because i see more parts available for rear wheel/hub/rim that are from 04 and up.

As far as I know all GG rims/hubs are that way. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable will come along here and confirm or correct me if I'm wrong.

I have done it before, years ago. You will just need the correct rim and spokes. Gasgas used a odd ball lacing pattern, I think it was 36 hole with LH lacing. Most others used RH lacing. Or vice versa. It was the same as old Italian husky rims I am pretty sure.

19" wheel

Either your bike was a MC version and not a EC or someone swapped the stock EC 18" for a 19". You are probably better off just buying a 18" rear wheel as they were the most common.

Excel site shows it was Husky from 2010-14 or somewhere around those years. Might just have to wait and find something on ebay in a few months. I have NO CLUE how to go about looking for the correct rim AND spokes to lace it up myself.

Think it is a DE. No headlight, Ohlins front/rear, 19" rear, wiring into the ignition side is at 10 o'clock position if that means anything.

I bought used stock hubs for my EC250SM conversion.
Bucannon's had no problem setting mine up with 17"
rims and spokes. Both front and rear.

Hey thanks for the info. Gives me a place to check out and get a price at least. What year/model is your bike?
