Aluminum preload collar
 

Is there a reason that one of the preload collars on kyb shock is made of aluminum? Can it be replaced with a steel collar?

Probably cost.
Cheaper to make that collar out of aluminum.

Do yourself a favor and install the X-Trig adjuster.

Every little bit of weight savings helps.

Ok I will check out the x-trig. Does it replace both collars? Are they bike specific? Do you have a link where I can order one?

I added the X-Trig preload adjuster to my '18. replaces both collars, no shock disassembly required. Works really well.

The YZ part fit right up with no issues at all. 07-09 YZ250F/450

Any GasGas dealer would have it.
