2012+ Aluminum Subframe Reviewed

I just got this in, and here it is. I'm off to 5MoH (5 Miles of Hell) in UT so no time to put it on right now but I will when I get back in a week or two weeks. Hope this helps people see it, and see what they are getting.

Thanks, I have mine coming also, not putting it on right away.

subframe

I hope you are taking it with you (in case you break the original). 5MOH can sure be hard on a bike. That is a good looking bike you have, why would you thrash it in 5MOH LOL :D :D :D

LOL

Well I have the 2013 subframe on, its plastic is MUCH thicker then the 2012's...I guess if I do break it the first day I'll be the campground wench and will just have to take the Jeep out and explore while everyone else rides...LOL

I've watched all the videos of 5MoH, yeah its hard but it looks like more hype then what it really is. I guess I will find out, I plan to video with the GoPro and take pictures....so I hope for some action shots. I feel privileged to go, I was asked to go as only Class A riders are going...I hope I can keep up, which is the only thing i am nervous about. Doubting my ability.

Oh and my bro makes fun of me, I've so trashed the GasGas and I bought it new where as he bought a $1,500 KTM 300 that was well trashed and our bikes are starting to look the same. I cleaned it up for the event, I always do guess its my OCD kicks in...gear is clean too, and car will be washed...LOL Only time I clean stuff before events, or if I plant o work on it. Fresh Oil, cleaned air filter...yep I'm ready.

Just put the kit on my 13 this weekend. Seems like a good improvement

Thanks for posting. I was under the impression that a new tank came with the kit also?

Under the influence perhaps ;)

The kit includes a new seat, new inner fender, subframe, side number plates, and side spar covers.

I see my reputation precedes me....

Yep side number plates come with it, I forgot to mention / show them int he video. No new tank. Some have reported a tight fit or issues on 2012's...will let you know next week.

You can use the old side number plates if you have graphics or numbers on them. You just need to push them in a bit and drill holes. It's a tight fit. No go on the older 12' tanks. There is an aluminum seat catch built into the new subrame and the older tanks will not fit. Unless you cut and grind that thing off.
