Chain slider

Hi gent GG uk dont have any in stock, does any other bike use one that's the same

Simmo737 05-16-2012 03:54 PM

Gday

Tm design works make sliders and guides for gassers

Cheers

Jakobi 05-16-2012 06:46 PM

They're nice too! I just put a set on my 2010. They cost a pretty penny which is the only downer. I believe BRP makes them too (http://www.brpmoto.com/products?page...ategory_id=307) however looking at the site I only see a guide and no sliders listed.

Which part are you after the slider round the front of the swingarm or the guide next to the rear sprocket??

Heres the stock slider http://www.teuber-motorsport.de/cata...ducts_id=50755 or the TMD alternative http://www.teuber-motorsport.de/cata...ducts_id=51940
The stock chain guide sucks, and I recommend either the TM designworks or the BRP like Jakobi stated.

bowhunter007 05-16-2012 07:23 PM

The chain guide on my '01 300 had been replaced with custom bracket. It accepts a Honda CR250 guide.

Now Feb. 2020, and just checked BRP, No chain slider, dammit.

EC300 2007 - in desperate need of a chain slider

(F5) 02-17-2020 02:25 AM

So next week my mini project is to make a new bracket to hold a generic slider, probably *onda CRF or something that I picked up cheap to the swing arm of my 07.

I've had similar thoughts instead of the hard find, shouldnt be too hard, I guess hardest part is which one to use from hundreds ? I wonder if local shop will let me loose in spare parts dept. , yeah cant see that happening!

My comment above to be clear, was for a rear guide, got a bit of a confusal on. Put the bike on the bench, so I'm getting closer.

QLDggMuppet 02-18-2020 02:06 AM

Good luck with it F5, shawbagger put me onto one on ebay I missed (again thanks mate) from U.S.
that I'll probs have to order, as i only have a few more gg dealers left to call in Aus to exhaust local option (this is an impatience thing to get her back on track)
I'm getting the same from all dealers, they are left in the dark due to ktm take over and some have had parts orders cancelled on them on bikes the have in pieces in thier workshops........nice smooth take over ya orange turds !!

QLDggMuppet 02-18-2020 02:31 AM

Yep roger that F5, shawbagger put me onto one (slider) on ebay I don't know how I missed that one (again thanks mate), I'll finish tomorrow morning exhausting Aussie stock just due to wanting to get her back on track, if not the bush pig will be going for a run or 2, at least the dr has all the grunt I require to compensate for my lack of skill

DR650 '18

QLDggMuppet 02-18-2020 09:53 PM

Yeah got that, good luck with the conversion.

(F5) 02-18-2020 11:18 PM

Oh , hold on, I've already done a conversation with the latter model swing arm mount and a CRF250 rear guide. Just it doesn't work with 50 tooth sprocket without some jigger pokery my ne conversion is to modify the bracket to take another block I bought. Shesh, the stuff you forget. Was waiting for the chain to wear out to make the swap.

swazi_matt 02-19-2020 01:32 PM

I wonder if this isn't something that could be 3d printed using vesconite filament? (thinking ahead as worst case GG/KTM worries)

(F5) 02-19-2020 06:02 PM

I did consider that, might ask some of the CAD guys at werk we have SLA but its media is too brittle. Also have a nasty FDM but that might be fine even if wear rate is high.

Well, so call these Woods bikes, so I got figuring. . . Decking timber bracket.;)

Pygmygod 02-20-2020 04:01 AM

Hah, fits like a glove!

(F5) 02-20-2020 11:56 AM

The top piece has 5 holes to find the right pair position and I cut it too short after it was too long. Still it gets me in the right place spinning the wheel.

Next will be ally version and pick up that 3rd mount plus bits on the side to ensure it stays central. Might get those bits welded but bolts higher up might be all it needs.

QLDggMuppet 02-24-2020 12:50 AM

On the bench

Yep I got the fist what you meant, how did youre guide job go ?
I did my slider, used one from a 2006 ktm250,
Had to drill and tap couple of 6mm holes, so now next replacement will be easy.

Ok that took wayyy too long so haven't tried to make it look pretty, maybe later.

Its 3 bits of 10mm plate bolted together with the center one reaching up to the swingarm.

Chain tomorrow, midnight last night, 11 tonight. All my air filters are dirty. . .sigh.

(F5) 02-27-2020 05:48 PM

Chain on revealed more metal to be removed due to sprocket clash forward position.

Now I have templates I can take orders to replicate. I'd think $800 would convince me to make another the same painstaking way. But 2 would be worse so I'd give up before then.

Send money to. . . .

Ya, the slider almost $150CAD by the time it get to me..... The guide closer to 200!

gasgasman 03-29-2020 11:41 AM

The take away is, the KTM chain guide will work. ('18-'19 bikes)
Just find one cheaper.

(F5) 03-29-2020 09:31 PM

Should work for the new models as well.

Ok sorry.

Louis069 10-12-2020 12:10 AM

Just found a front chain slider and also a rear chain guide at motocross center for a reasonable price. But shipping could be expensive depending on where you are

Gez 10-12-2020 06:29 PM

Surely Rieju are making these in abundance now?

motocrosscenter will send anywhere, but if that is all you are getting you may want to email them as i seem to remember their system calculates shipping with a minimum starting cost
