Kickstart Shaft Seal Replacement EC300
 

Has anyone had luck replacing the kickstart shaft seal without pulling the sidecover? Have a leaking seal, but feeling lazy and don't really want to pull the cover off to do so.

I made a half-hearted practice attempt on a spare 300 motor I have and was unable to get it to budge using pick/hook tools. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Usually, you can drive a sheet metal screw into the seal then pull on the screw to remove the seal.
