A glowing performance by Walkner who deserves every bit of that top podium step. Won by navigation skill mixed with racing skill. He won in the true spirit of Dakar!!

I've been blown away by the skill from GasGas at this event. I remember two weeks ago musing on if they could land a rider inside the top 20.. Now to finish the race with Johnny Aubert at 6th overall and Jonathan Barragan at 15th is just incredible!! Nothing can be taken from Cristian Espana either with a fantastic 30th place finish in spite of crippling penalties from the early days of the race.
Well done GasGas! So excited to see what you bring to the event for 2019! Here's to the best for the racers and the company! Keep on keep'in on!!

Just realized that Jonathan Barragan finished as the second best rookie of the race as well!!!
