Get Out and Ride

Had a great ride with Don (EC200) and Paul (little orange thing that was really goofy to ride when he rode the Gasser) at North Missaukee last Thursday - headed up to Long Lake Trail near Cadillac, MI Friday for a 10am kick-off if anybody is interested.

Don't believe all the hype that all of Michigan's trails are sandy - they aren't. North Missaukee has a great mix of soil with a challenging layout - barkbusters are recommended. A little flatter than Long Lake, and its an out and back rather than a loop, but definitely high on the single-track satisfaction scale. Rumor has it that the Jack Pine (85th running coming up on July 25th) will use some of the same acreage.

Sunday is a new venture for Valley Trail in Bentley - their first enduro. Great terrain in the hare scrambles series, should be golden come the weekend. There's also a kid's race Saturday if you're so inclined.

See you on the trail - 2010 Gasser 275F

If I can ever pry the camera out of my wife's hands I'll take some photos. For now this will have to do. (Only half the reason she always has the camera)

I know this is an old post, but of all the LP trails, the North Miss. cycle trail is my favorite...

'Color' Ride in Mio Oct 22

A little forum cross-over here, but there's a TT ride scheduled for Friday October 22, leaving the Mio loop trail head at 10am. From the sounds of things riders of all skill levels will be participating.

Basically the trailhead is 11.0 miles north of Mio (4.7 to the big bend in M33/M72, then 6.3 north on Mount Tom) on N. Mount Tom Road, then 1 mile west on Oak Lake Rd.

My colors will be black and red, with some white and red to drool on in the camping area :D

Get out and ride!
