Virginia highlands horse trail

Anyone familiar with this trail?

We rode it couple years ago, heading south. Think it's only open to bikes maybe Oct-Mar???
It was cold, snowing and covered with a couple inches of ice. We didn't ride all of it. I would rate it easy to almost boring. Just smooth easy trail/dirt road from what I seen.

Well that's no fun! Looking for somewhere new to go the first weekend of November. Brown mtn and brushy mtn have gotten me spoiled with great riding for bikes

I've wanted to ride it. I love Brown. There is also Spearhead in St Paul VA. But you really need a local to show you the single track. Some of the hardest I've ever done.

I was looking at spearhead...is it mostly double track?

Yes it is but I rode with a guy out there a couple of weeks ago. A lot of the single track is poorly marked. So you'f have to know where it is. And honestly it was great. All either straight up or straight down. Very tight. Some places you could only put a foot down on the upslope. I had a blast after 3 hours I was wasted.
