Eric Gorr services

Just saw the new site and I like it. Talk about cheap services. Here is the rate for a EC250.
For 2-stroke engines, the package deals include;

Cleaning and disassembly
Iinspection and measurement
Over-boring
Porting
Replating
Diamond honing
Head mods
Powervalve service
Piston and gasket kits.
You’ll get your choice of powerbands; more low/mid, more mid/top, broader powerband, and choices of fuel; pump or race gas.

and it only costs $550.

Same thing for a 144 but it is only $495.

I think I might go crazy and try out a 275. Might be perfect for me.

Still revs, and has 300 like bottom end. Sounds cheaper than my exhaust system almost.

Well tell me what you think.

I had a KX80 bored to a 100 by Eric Gorr. The power valve had not been serviced or modified for the larger bore. If I would not have checked it before re-assembly I would have had a big problem. I had to modify it myself.

There are others that have had bad experiences with Eric Gorr.

I will not be using him again.

Sorry to hear that. Just like you I have had bad experiences with other places and seeings how RB wont ship to and from Canada this is my only other option.

2 stroke, ship me your stiff and I'll ship it to RB and then baxk to you or better yet find someone close to RB.

I used Gorr for a KDX 200 to 240 bore and it was nice when I got it back.
Big thing there when I got it back, which was because I sent it out over the winter with a 2 to 4 week turn around. 2 months later got the head back, freaking had to call him almost everyday to get the skinny. Very annoying.
The work was done well and had no issue with the top end on that bike with 2 years of riding after that but wouldn't go with him again simply to the hassle of his return estimates and actual turn around. my 2 cents

I have no personal experience but have heard a few horror stories. I would send my stuff to Ron (RBD) hands down. His work is meticulous as is his service. This I do have personal experience with.

Maybe he's got his act together again but for awhile his whole business went to pot. Some of the horror stories I've read over on the orange site are just unreal, amusing or sad. Anything from totally screwed up stuff, missing parts, wrong parts returned to the customer or not at all, never returned phone calls etc. etc.etc. You get the idea. I think his whole business went under finally. Last I read he was working along with or for US Chrome. I guess his work is really good when he's on his game so you decide.

RB Designs or try this guy

Outstanding reputation on KTM Talk, super easy to deal with and totally reasonable prices. Give him a call and talk about your wants and needs for the motor and I'm sure he can do it. I have not read 1 poor review of his work yet.

I might have to send you the carb but I did the IT465 head with him and had great luck. Now as Forward motion they seem to have it all together now.

So I think I am going for it. But I might still do the carb later on as well.
