Motion Pro Rim Locks

I'm looking to replace my stock rim locks on the next tire change. I heard the MPro were the way to go. I'm not sure what size rim locks I should be getting for the front and rear wheel. I run 120/100x18 (rear) / 80/100x21(front). Choices are 1.6, 1.85, 2.15". Cheers :)

I'm pretty sure it's the 2.15 in the rear.

Look at your rims, the size is stamped right on them.

The front is 1.6
The rear is 2.15

Do u guys run rimlocks on the front too?

I use a front wheel lock. hard braking can also make the tire spin on the rim if you don't use one.

Anybody have experience with the "Tusk" Brand Rim Locks sold by Rocky Mtn ATV? They look just like the MP Rim Locks but are 1/2 the price.

I'm not sure if their rimlocks are made by same outfit but other items are. They have great prices. They sure look identical to me. Maybe call them and ask.

The tusk looks nearly identical to the Motion Pro.

Regardless of which brand you get, I strongly recommend grinding the sharp outside edges of the rimlock way back to create a nice radius on the edges. Every pinch flat I have had was due to the sharp edges of the rimlock. Since radiusing the edges of the rimlocks, I have not had a single pinch flat in years with Moose HD tubes.

Thanks Eric. I will do this. Also, I ordered some Motion Pro rimlocks from GoFasters and was told to use the 2.15 for the front rim too. So that is what I ordered. Although the front rim says 1.6. Larger clamping area I guess?

I had a bad experience with a 2.15 rim lock in the front. The tube had 2 slits about 2 inches long from the rim lock since it protrudes much higher up.

I would NOT run a 2.15 rim lock in the front.

I would only use the 1.6 in the front.
