EX vs. HARD

Has anyone had any experience with the Metzeler six day EX (stock) vs. HARD front tire? I realize the compound will be harder. The tread pattern is much different on the hard as well. I like the EX but the knobs are chucking off.
Thanks.

Big fan of the EX here.

I like my EX too. But have too noticed some chunks out of the tire.

Love me some Metzeler Six Days in the sand and loose loam - what kind of terrain are you riding that they chunk off?

Tree roots. Small to medium size rocks.

I pulled the rear off after nearly no kms at all. Stock front tyre seems quite good in the sloppy conditions we've been having.

Agree. I tried 'em all and always go back to the Metz 6 days Extreme.

So is that just common wear on mine? Or is it due to the terrain I ride?

I'm going to say it's the rocks, unless there has been a compound change or production plant change thrown in that makes them crap. I used to run Michelin S12XCs up front but lately have been buying take-off Metzlers for my personal bikes.
