Foot Injury

1 Attachment(s)
This is one of the things that can happen to a foot. I think I had my feet up but I still got caught by a big root. The single track had been torn up by the national enduro the week before and that particular spot was rutted pretty deep. I think the root wedged behind the frame or engine and on top of my foot. This happened the Saturday before Easter. I will still be a while recovering. I just hope I do not have to have surgery.

Wow. Sorry to see that you were injured. I hope you recover fully and quickly.

To stay in shape, I run quite a bit, and i think about my feet a great deal, especially when they bother me. Even the best boots can't protect you from everything. I never hesitate to spend the $$$ on good boots.

An emergency room surgeon was asked what protective gear motorcyclists should spend their money on. His first answer was helmet, with the second answer boots, with boots being more important than leather jackets and pants. I can't find his explanation now, but it made perfect sense. I believed it, and bought some Sidi Combat touring boots for the street bike.

An article on dirt bike boots (a bit dated, but good nonetheless) can be found at http://www.teamorthopedics.com/boots.html

Best wishes for a fast and full recovery.

Ouch, that looks awful. What kind of boots were you wearing? Did the boots rip open too?

Get well soon.

Yikes! That had to hurt. I have had many foot type injury's from riding and roots but never split my flesh like that.

Hope you have a speedy recovery,

Roscoe

Only a little pine sap on the Alpinestar Tech 6 boots. The root had to pinch my foot down on the peg to bust open the skin without a tear in the boot. At 60 years old I injure easily and my feet are always a problem.
