D.I.D vs. Excel rims.

Do gasgasers still come with dirtstar wheels? How do they compare to
the stock excel P.O.S wheels that come on the big five.

dirtstar wheels

Too bad you cant get the did dirtstar rims anymore. they are much stronger than the excel rims.
Sun rims are about the strongest and Buchanun spoke and rim has them.
Ive run the last few years on did dirtstar rims without dents or bending .

They just don't come with the "U" shaped rims, which are as tough as hell.

The "u" shaped DID DirtStars were very tough my 04 had them and I never bent a rim over a very abusive 2 year period. My 06 has the new DirtStars with the traditional shaped rim and they have many dents and tweaks after one season of abuse. I do think the new versions are lighter, in turn sacrificing strength.
The other nice thing about the "U" shaped DirtStars was the mud didn't seem to collect on them as much as the traditional shaped rim.

I used the wheelset off my 05 on the new 07.

The U shaped rims.
