Chuckwagon Tours

As requested by Flybars in another thread, I'm posting a little information about a tour company that a friend of mine and I are doing. I'll keep it brief. If you want more, reply and I'll post more.

If you're on Facebook, you can search "Chuckwagon Tours."
We just procured 3 brand new Husqvarna motorcycles for this adventure, though I think my freind has glommed on to the TE 510 for his personal ride. We have for rent, at this sime, a brand new 2009 Husky WR 250, and a Brand new, only crashed a few times, 2009 WR 300.
The bikes are stone stock and run fabulous with good tires. So if there's a need, we have bikes we can rent out.

The focus is to make available transportation to and from various riding areas that we are well familiar with in Oregon (or California, or Mexico, or even Costa Rica if you'd like). We ask what kind of riding you'd like to do, your skill level, how many days, from a day trip to a long adventure. We have food covered, and fuel for the rental bikes. Using one's own bike is just fine, though it needs to have your state off road sticker and a spark arrestor.
I have been slated as the tour guide, and my freind Jack is in charge of food, maintenence, etc... We are both medically trained and can provide first aid, etc...

If you want to see more examples of what goes on, check youtube and search singletrackfiends for this past weekend's ride. I'm not sure how it will be labled, but it's the only one in HD, and it's at Huckleberry flats, so that should be in the name. Check the guy crashing his own Husky WR 125 in the play area. Classic. No fear. Though I was thinking how I'd hate to give him CPR when he did that scary backflip..........

I'm kind of going blank, so if you have curiosities, ask away and I'll do my best to answer articulately.

I generally head to Seattle & Portland at least once or twice a year by car. Would be pretty cool to get some riding in with out hauling (trailer) my bike. What kind of ~costs are we talking for a guided day ride?

A guided all inclusive (food, gas, transportation from Eugene OR to one of several choices of local riding with rental bike) day trip is $250.

That is down right reasonable...I'll be looking into a tour on my next trip. :D

great price. if i ever get out that way, i'll have to look y'all up.

I thought I'd mention it, even though it may seem obvious. You need your gear. Nothing fits, or is safer than your own helmet and boots. If you're coming from far away, you can ship it to us. Shipping gear to us will incur an additional charge of $50, but that will include return shipping and cleaning your gear for you. If you prefer, you can ship it and arrange return shipping, sending your filthy gear back at no charge. :D

Mike... I think you are sitting on a "Gold Mine"

Great Idea. I'm sure "Chuckwagon Tours" will do quite well.

Good Luck

I hope it takes off. So far we just want to pay for the bikes, and go without net loss to take people riding. I'm hoping some folks will spread the word and give us some feedback. So far, day trippers are what's popping up. Cool with me, that's easy. We have competition in Central Oregon that are doing three day tours of China Hat for $800. No details, that's all I know. I do know that we can beat that rate. Especially if we do multiple riders. I'm thinking three days at China Hat, Lava Cast Forest, and Mowich, or Millican Plateu for
$500 per rider. Rental bike included.

I think "Chuck Wagon Tours" will be a winner. When U get large enough, I will be applying for a job for sure!
