2013 XC 300 throttle cable help

Hi All, I have a bit of mystery that I hope someone can help me solve. I have a 2013 XC 300, I snapped the throttle cable, so ordered a new one from my dealer, when it came (dealer is 1000 Kms away) it was not the same as my old one. The old one has a near 90 degree bend straight off the top of the carb to clear the gas tank, the new one has only about a 15-20 degree bend. I called the dealer back, he was not sure so ordered 2 more of what should have been the right part, when they arrived they were the same as the one he already sent, so he does not know what to do. If someone can shed some light on this or give me the correct part number I would really apprciate it, thank in advance.

Could be the difference between the older carb (as1)which has a "screw lid" and your later "squarish cap" type (as2).Both are 38mm pwk airstryker.Im not sure which year they changed...maybe '11/'12?

Not sure what is normal, I have an AS2.

To make it even more confusing I have seen the same model bike come out with two or three different carburettors... as1/2 and even a 36mm..

15-20 degree is what my 2013 has. Have you tried putting it on? I had a lectron on it and that cable was straight. Ran just fine.

Thanks for the replies, yes I did it hits the bottom of the gas tank I seem to need the 90 bendmine was born with.

I use a motion pro one with no bend. Sure it touches the tank, but it doesn't cause any issues at all. Just make sure it's routed well any any movement when turning the bars should happen up around the head stem only.
