I showed the spooge photo to Kevin at Lectron. He suggested a half-turn leaner on the metering rod.

Later, I might also lean the Power Jet a quarter or half just to see what it does.

Yeah, probably a good idea. I know you like your setup pig rich! I've already leaned out your old '11 a 1/4 turn and will probably be going another 1/4 turn to eliminate the spooge. Still haven't even touched the power jet.

You bringing your new ride out to Camp Wood? Would love to take a look at it.

It will be there.

Not sure if I should bring the shiney race plastic or slum it with my spare ?trail riding? set.

I visited the ?tough starting? thread.

My issue was that the bike started reliably with eStart but was weirdly inconsistant on the kicker, hot or cold. Sometimes it lit on the first kick, 3rd, 7th, or giving up and going to the near instant eStart. The new Lectron probably made it even more inconsistent as I tried to figure out what new throttle position to use.

I adjusted the Lectron a half-turn leaner on the metering rod and power jet. I don?t think that helped much, if at all.

Tonight I took out the Iridium NKG BR9 plug (gapped at 0.030?), and replaced it with a new NKG BR8 (because I had it) gapped to about 0.022?.

It might be moto-placebo effect, but it seems to be much improved.

I took the Lectroned Gasser to our club race this weekend.

6000 feet and 85F (by 2pm).

The bike ran fine.

I did notice that my fully charged lithium battery didn?t like starting in the morning at 40F. I kicked it, instead.

Also, a discovery on my starting issues. I have it jetted so rich that it doesn?t like to start, or doesn?t need to start, with the choke on. I might lean it out some more.

I?m going to look into getting one step up in springs.

It was good seeing you at the race. The new gasser looked so sweet and it was so quiet.

BTW, your old bike did really good at the race. It got me through all that nastiness and never complained. Still need to lean it out some more but she ran really good. I did call it quits after test 3 so that I didn't end up hurting it or myself.

Glad to hear it has found a good home.

I looked at my new plug and found it had a half tan, half dark electrode. Why not experiment?

I decided to lean the metering rod 1/4 turn. The motor didn?t appreciate that move. Idle was odd, and gaspy. Looks like I found my endpoint. I cranked back and all is well.

I also swapped out the 13T counter sprocket for a new Renthal 12T CS.

Now the bike feels like it?s a single track machine.

I have the day off tomorrow and will try to get some tight turn course in after my morning mountain bike ride.

The next race in the series is this weekend. I really need a bunch more seat time.
