2018 on rear EC300 rim

Anyone had to replace a rim yet and found a cross reference?
They appear to be laced in the conventional left hand way rather than the old oddball right hand pattern like the Italian huskys.

Might try a Ktm style rim and see if it laced up.

Not putting a shitty Malaysian excel rim on again. Mine has split right through the weld join.

Yours is not the only one Nate.

Shawbagga had the same problem. I'll shoot you some details soon. Keen to hear if the new one laces up alright!

Rim turned up today, surprise surprise it doesn't fit. Only one side will line up at a time whilst the other is one spoke hole out of phase. Apparently JTR will drill one to suit so they must have the spoke pattern on file. I'll send this back and see how I go. Yay for my shitty luck. ^lol

Bugger!!

Changing to the standard spoke pattern is one very positive change Reiju could make to next years bikes.

So Excel is outsourcing production of some of their rims. That explains why my 2007 gasser dented both rims within months of buying it new and I didn't even know when either dent happened. Since then I've switched to Tubliss and no more dents in that 07 bike or the 11 and 18 gassers that came after.

I?ve run tubliss from new and a mate has mousses. Both have cracked rims. The top of the line A60 excel rim has no listing for our bikes. I blame the shitty quality rims.

FYI this is the part number for the good Japanese excel rims that the bike should have come with.

Isn't ktm front rim same as Yamaha? Ktm front rim fit gas gas? Hope so I have an a60 laying around I would like to place up.

The answer is no. The spokes come out of the rim at an angle that has to match up to a corresponding angle on the hub. So all "rim nipples" are offset from the center of the rim - half to the left and half to the right in a staggered patttern - that is true for all dirtbike rims. These "rim nipples" are drilled for the "spoke nipples" in a forward or aft direction. The rim nipples on the right side of the rim connect spokes to the right side of the hub same thing with the left side all with an alternating for/aft pattern. A gasgas wheel will look the same as your KTM wheel but when you compare them closely do so by looking at a set of 3 adjacent spokes on each wheel. You'll find that when the first and third spoke holes match up on both rims the middle holes will not.
