Mobile phone App for enduro riders...

Hi all

Does anyone have any good recommendations for a Mobile Phone App to aid enduro trail riding?

OK, I know you could spend a lot of money on a full blown GPS system and paid maps, but I'm looking for something free/cheap. ;)

I found this one and have used it a few times, it allows me to download a map for use offline, log my route, share my location, etc. The maps also include hiking paths as well as roads. It's pretty good.

It's called E-walk Free, see it here...

E-walk Free - Offline hiking & trekking. Download offline maps, plan your treks, share your position, and more!

Has anyone found anything better?

All the best, Dave.

I use Galileo offline maps. I think it is only available for iPhone. It works very well. Would have been lost many times without it.

Despite the name it can be used in countries other than Australia..

Try Avenza, works well for me and it will show your position on downloaded maps, which is great.

Otherwise, I'd say Motion GPX - I like the fact that it will send my location to an outside source (i.e., my wife) so if I get stuck "out there somewhere" she knows where I am at. But that's for iPhones :(

That's what most of the guys in my club use. It works well.
