I bought a 2001-200 in the spring and the bike had new seals, this fall the seals started to leak is there a better seal made or is it just one of those maintenance things. Don

My experience with the WP's, Zokes, and Ohlins forks was that, out of the three, the WP's took the most maintenance. The Ohlins dont' take much - as long as they are kept clean, leave them dirty and you'll pay.
All the Zokes seemed to be bullet proof no matter how you treated them.

The WP's seemed to be drooling all the time. I think the seals dry out quickly on the WP's and start to leak. We tried several differnent brands of seals and they were all leakers on the WP's.:(

If your going to have your bike sitting for a few months its allways a good idea to pop of and clean the dust seals and then clean the oil seals with a piece of film negative and finally spray down everthing including the sliders with silicone lube .Same goes for the shock shaft.

A trick I've used for years with success on all all the forks mentioned:

Wrap a piece of nylon cord, 1/8" dia, packed with seal grease, around the fork tube under the dust wiper. This will catch anything that the wiper passes. Clean and regrease occasionally. Two seasons on seals should be no problem. Use OEM seals.

WP easiest to service. Zokes not much harder. Ohlins a PIA and needs special tools.
