Proper Snake Bite Treatment

I know that we all ride in remote areas and that snake bites are a typical danger. I ride in Florida and sometimes in Central America, so I see a lot of snakes, spiders, bears, alligators, crocodiles etc. I've never been bitten but I want to be prepared if it happens. I am going to buy a personal locater beacon, but what is the correct emergency treatment procedure for a venomous snake bite?

I found this NC State Link,

So the guy was snake bitten while taking a leak. His friend frantically runs to the doctor for help. The doctor explained how to make an incision and suck out the venom. Upon his return to his friend he was asked ... what did the doctor say? ... he said you were gonna die!

Was the first thing I thought of as well, except was a Lone Ranger/Tonto joke. :p

Seriously, there are snake bite kits available with different types of anti-venom. Check your local drug and sporting goods stores.

I don't think any kits you can buy have anti-venom. And I don't think that the incision and suction method is recommended any more, either.
Best to have your buddies ride to a point where they get cell service while you calmly wait to pay for an expensive helicopter ride.
As for me: I'm going to cut deep, suck hard, put a constriction band above the bite and ride out. If I don't make it, well, the wolves that the worthless eco-nazis have re-introduced here in Northern Arizona need to eat too...

LOL...that was my approach as well. On my link above, it doesn't reccomend incision or suction. I thought I would buy a personal locater beacon, invest in some emergency evac insurance and know the basic emergency procedure and have the basic emergency equipment just to be ready. I like to be as well prepared as possible but I don't worry too much about it.
